Dear guests and members of the press, Today marks a landmark development for the recording industry in Hong Kong. As organizer of the MUSIC MUST GO ON project, we are pleased to witness its fruition with awareness and widespread support from the community. The scheme had ensure non-stop music entertainment to the music lovers in Hong Kong under the pandemic. After months in preparation, the project has produced 113 new recordings of Hong Kong golden melodies modernized by 98 artistes and bands, involving 55 music labels producing works from 93 local composers and lyricists, and created 800+ external jobs locally. This is a warm reminder to all labels under the MMGO project to submit their full reimbursement claim together with all supporting documents on or before 22nd February, 2021 to the organizer. Please study the Rules and Regulations as well as the Q&A and examples for a smooth process to receiving the subsidy.The submission shall first be made to our Liaison Manager. A warm reminder to all on the deadline of the release of project recordings in Hong Kong on or before 30th January, 2021 is issued today. The Project Producers should read the contract on definition of commercial release. The minimum condition is to have confirmation that the applicant has delivered the finished master and made the commercial arrangement with the distributor of the recording on or before 30th January, 2021, whichever digital or physical product arrangement is earlier. The Request for Studio Practitioner Replacement Form, the updated Reimbursement Form as well as the Authorisation Form are available from the Download Section now.
The organizing team will in the course of this week to complete the vetting process and to dispatch approval recommendation emails to the relevant applicants. To ensure progress monitoring and timely processing, those receiving the recommendation emails should immediately: 1.Return an acknowledgement email to the organizer, and2.Prepare to send the complete set of hardcopy to the Organizer - IFPI (Hong Kong Group) Limited, including the signed original copy of the Application, the Rules and Regulations and the lyrics sheet.The Organiser will close the approval process by the 30th November, 2020.Applicants please note: The Organiser will not issue separate notice to those not included in the approved list.
The Organiser wish to thank the record labels, artistes and professional musicians for their interest in supporting this recording creating process. The application period is officially closed today the 10th November, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. Applicants will be receiving the result of the applications in the course of the next week if not notified already.
The Music Must Go On 2020 application deadline closes at 1:00p.m. on 10th November, 2020. Interested Applicants please note that all project applications, regardless of whether it is the label’s 1st Artiste-1st song or other songs from the label intended for the 2nd round processing, shall close at 1:00p.m. on the 10th of November 2020. There is no call for 2nd round submission just to be clear. There are just a few days left. Applicants are well advised to seek for a reservation of the cover licence from the relevant music publishers within the remaining time.
Background Non-members of the Organiser who wish to apply for the Scheme is required to produce 2 recommendation letters from Full Members of the Organiser. A Full Member list is published under www.the-music-must-go-on.com, as well as the blank recommendation letter. Prepare to send these as part of the request: The completed letter Your company profile, including the current Business Registration copy Sample recordings such as via web-links, the bio and photo of your exclusive contracted artiste intended for the application. Chances are the Full Members do not know you. Any support information such as what song you wish to use for the Scheme would increase your chance of winning their support. The Organizer does not recommend who from the list you should approach first.
